About Us
We are a leading Not for Profit organisation with a service delivery area spanning from Wollongong to Eden, across to the Snowy Mountains.
Comprising 8 offices and over 75 employees, we own and manage over $1 billion worth of assets, approx. 2,300 dwellings housing nearly 5,000 people.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Lead and manage the Tenancy team to deliver housing assistance to individuals and families, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
Maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders and ensure adherence to all relevant policies
Form relationships with support agencies to enable effective collaboration.
Implement business improvement processes to enhance the efficiency of the Tenancy team
Enhance the experience of tenants in their engagement with SCH, proactively supporting positive change for the organisation
Understanding of data surrounding Tenancy performance and preparation of monthly reporting to management and the board
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
Highly developed organisational skills including a strong attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Strong ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community groups.
Detailed understanding of the Social and Affordable Housing sector and the needs of its clients, including those from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Proficiency in using housing management software such as Green Tree or similar systems.
Experience working with vulnerable people including those with complex needs.
Strong engagement skills and ability to interact effectively and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to developing a positive workplace and cohesive team, in addition to fostering a safe work culture and to applying modern OHS practices.
Ability to produce quality outcomes in a high-volume, fast-paced client work environment.
Understanding of NRSCH and managing complaints and appeals
Essential Qualifications and Licensing:
Current NSW Drivers licence
Current Working with Children Check (will be arranged by SCH)
Criminal record check providing suitable clearance to work with vulnerable members of the community (will be arranged by SCH)
Relevant tertiary qualifications:
Certificate/Diploma in Social Housing / Community Services, or
Real estate license, or
Equivalent work experience.
About the Role & Perks of the Job:
A permanent (35 hrs p.w.) role located in our Nowra office.
Typically, your hours would be worked over 5 days – however, SCH offers flexibility to our staff, providing you with the option to work your hours in 4 days. If that’s not for you, instead you have the opportunity to accrue and utilise time in lieu (TIL).
