Join Our Caring Team! – Medical Receptionist Wanted
Are you passionate about supporting women, babies and families through their healthcare journey? We’re looking for a warm, organised and professional Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated team at Adelaide Mums and Babies Clinic.
In this key front-of-house role, you’ll be the friendly face and calm voice that welcomes patients, manages bookings, and keeps our clinic running smoothly. Your compassion, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will help us provide the very best care for our community.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and families with warmth and sensitivity
Managing appointments and electronic medical records
Assisting with Medicare, billing, and referrals
Coordinating with GPs, midwives, and allied health professionals
Supporting a team that is passionate about women’s and infant health
What we’re looking for:
Exceptional customer service skills to ensure the patient has the best experience possible.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Problem solving skills, demonstrating a proactive nature and initiative.
Confident with IT systems, including Google Drive and Microsoft Office. Experience with Best Practice is desirable but not essential.
Reliable with good time management skills to manage a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, accompanied with great organisational skills.
A genuine interest in maternal and child health

Role requirements:
Working with Children Check (will be required prior to starting)
National Police checks (will be required prior to starting)
CPR Certificate (not required prior to starting but is required)
Location
We are located in Rose Park and Ashford, SA (flexibility across both locations is a requirement for this position )
Hours
Start and end of day procedures, including opening (8.15 am ) and closing the clinic (5.15 pm - 6 pm).
This role is approximately 17 hours to 25.5 hours per week

Position Description / Key Duties:
Welcoming patients and visitors in a friendly professional, timely manner
Answering the telephone and answering any enquires
Scheduling, cancelling, rescheduling, appointments
Assisting patients with completing necessary forms and documentation manually or electronically
Processing billing and payments using medical software including Medicare, DVA, private, including batching
Manage faxing, scanning, filing, emailing , post (incoming & outgoing ) correspondence
Monitoring stationary and supplies
Maintaining confidentiality at all times
Liaising with other medical department such as radiology, pathology, specialist, allied health, nurses, midwives and hospital staff
Be responsible for opening and closing the clinic
Receive and convey messages in writing, verbally and electronically in a clear and professional manner
Liaise with patients and their families in a compassionate manner
Contribute equally to maintaining the cleanliness of the clinic
Handle cash, EFTPOS +/- HICAPS and other payments and adhere to practice billing policy
Participate in ongoing professional development
Managing practice dress standards as set out in the uniform policy
Perform other administrative duties as directed by the practice manager, directors and doctors
Set up & pack up for classes and group
Other duties as assigned
