The Perkins is seeking an enthusiastic Graphic Designer to develop brand-aligned visual elements for the communication, fundraising and community engagement functions of the Perkins. This position is offered on a full-time permanent basis and is located at our state-of-the-art medical research facilities in Nedlands.
About this role
Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer, the Graphic Designer will create visually appealing designs for a variety of platforms to effectively convey the importance of supporting medical research and the impact it has on our community. The key responsibilities of this role include:
Identifying and developing innovative graphic design solutions and approaches
Developing and designing artwork to support external and internal communications and fundraising campaigns that align with and strengthen the Perkins brand to promote, educate and engage
Sourcing and creating engaging content that inspires target audiences for print and digital publications, social media, advertising and websites
Collaborating with key stakeholders to meet creative and functional objectives relating to a range of outputs including social media visual content, newsletters, direct mail, fundraising initiatives, merchandise and other function-specific outputs
Creating digital animation, still images and video assets that depict complex concepts or stories to publication or broadcast-ready standard
Meeting timelines, project deliverables and task objectives in consultation with internal client teams
Maintaining basic filing and record-keeping of all design projects
This role would suit someone who has had a few years of graphic design experience and is passionate about design and branding.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Cert IV or tertiary degree in Graphic Design) or equivalent industry experience
Demonstrated experience in designing assets aimed at different audiences with experience in print, web, animation, digital and multimedia concept, design and output
Good organisation skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining high quality outputs
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite using Apple Mac hardware
Strong photographic, video, animation and editing skills (desirable)
Website editing skills (desirable)
