As an Electronics Engineer – Aviation in the Air Force, you’ll play a crucial role in leading highly skilled technicians to maintain and sustain a range of avionics systems that allow aircraft to remain mission-capable. Whether on a base or in the field, you’ll be responsible for power generation and distribution, radar and navigation, surveillance, electronic control, mission communications, and electronic warfare systems.
Your duties may include:
Operational Engineering - leading skilled technicians at an operational Air Base to maintain and configure Air Force equipment for daily missions
Sustainment Engineering - working alongside the defence industry to modify, upgrade and ensure the continued effectiveness of Air Force equipment
Project Engineering - applying project and engineering management skills as Air Force acquires new capability to meet Australia's evolving needs
Safety Engineering - influencing aviation safety by investigating technical incidents and managing workforce standards such as training and qualifications.
As an Air Force Officer, you’ll also be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor, equipped with highly sought-after management skills.

Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $99,995.
Location
Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.

For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have completed or are in your final year of a Bachelor of Engineering in one of the areas listed in the position description below.
