QR_ is currently expending its activity in Australia and we are looking for Senior Avionics Engineer to join our Sydney team.

Your role

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for Engineering, with a result-oriented and proactive mindset. As a member of the Engineering Avionics Systems Team, the position is responsible for providing Avionics Systems Engineering support to the appointed Business Line. All work is carried out in accordance with and compliance to all processes, systems and tools set by the Senior Manager Engineering and Manager Systems Software Avionics (SSA), to produce products and services that meet customers’ requirements.

As a Senior Engineer your main responsibilities will be:

Reporting to Team Lead Avionics Systems this role is responsible for working as a Senior Engineer within an engineering team to develop and deliver engineering solutions, using a systems engineering design philosophy in accordance with the level and scope of Engineering Authority delegated to you.

The holder of this role will attend relevant workshops in which Team and Personal goals are established, and will support the Functional Manager in the execution of Airbus strategy and relevant goals.

Experience required:

8+ years’ professional experience working in relevant engineering field as a practicing engineer in the aviation industry

Detailed knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g. DASR, CAANZ,CASA, etc.), standards and best practices

Understanding of maintenance and engineering cost drivers and how to ensure cost effectiveness

Knowledge of operational excellence, managing a service-oriented organisation and delivering on service targets

Experience in coaching and mentoring to contribute to the continuation of a talent pipeline both internally and externally

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering in Avionics, Electronics, or compatible discipline from nationally accredited program or equivalent

Ability to attain Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent state-based engineering registration
