About the opportunity

Southern Cross University’s Technology Services delivers innovative, cost-effective digital solutions and support across the University, driving student, staff, and research success through strategic leadership and collaborative engagement. We are seeking a Technology Support Officer to support our staff and students, work units, teaching spaces and computer laboratories. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Develop high-quality ICT support through face-to-face, remote, onsite, email, and phone channels for staff and students using teaching space audiovisual and IT services
  • Deploy and maintain Standard Operating Environments (SOEs) on staff and student devices, utilising desktop management tools for efficient operation and updates
  • Analyse, troubleshooting, and test complex ICT issues, including the evaluation and post-implementation testing of planned changes to ensure service continuity
  • Manage the full lifecycle of ICT hardware, including procurement, installation, network patching, and decommissioning of desktop-related devices
  • Create user-friendly support documentation, deliver ICT orientation sessions, and collaborate across teams to develop agile solutions with evolving University needs
About you

You will be passionate about delivering exceptional ICT support, solving complex technical challenges, and enhancing the digital experience for students and staff in a dynamic and collaborative university environment. More specifically, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications with a strong computing focus and / or experience in an ICT user support environment
  • Proven skills in diagnosing and resolving ICT issues, along with up-to-date knowledge of audiovisual, computer, printer, and mobile device technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively assist users through clear verbal, written, face to face, and remote support
  • A collaborative approach, a commitment to client service excellence, and an understanding of cultural diversity, equity, and WHS principles in the workplace
Salary and benefits

Our staff benefit from flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work models, generous parental and carer’s leave provisions, wellbeing initiatives, employee assistance programs and professional learning opportunities. This position is:

  • Full-time, continuing (permanent)
  • Located at Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450. Generous relocation support available.
  • HEW 5. The base salary ranges from $80,737 - $89,717 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $104,968.
