Anala is seeking a full-time Behaviour Support Practitioner to join the team.

The role

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will provide professional information and strategies to people with disability, families, staff and their networks regarding evidence-based approaches to reducing the impact of challenging behaviour and participants can assimilate into community.

Duties

• Undertake functional behavioural assessments for participants
• Develop Behaviour Intervention Support (BIS) Plans
• Implement and train the participants family and their networks of the identified strategies
• Identify and implement restrictive practices, following the governance surrounding this practice
• Working with people with disabilities and/or complex diagnoses

Qualifications/registrations/licences

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (eg Psychology, Social Work, Counselling)
• NDIS Registration (desirable)
• Affiliation with Peak Body (ACA Level 3 or PACFA desirable)
• Apply for NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
• Current Driver’s Licence, car insurance and vehicle
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module and New Worker - Induction Module

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), including its principles, processes, and the role of behaviour support within the scheme.
• A strong understanding of and commitment to person-centered approaches that promote individual choice, dignity, and quality of life for people with disabilities.
• Possession of formal qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as psychology, social work, counselling.
• Proven knowledge and skills in supporting individuals with complex needs, including experience in working with challenging behaviours and implementing behaviour support strategies.
• Strong ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads effectively, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with professional and legislative requirements.
