ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking Behaviour Support Practitioners who have met current suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Qualified candidates who are not yet registered but interested in working towards meeting all Core practitioner level capabilities will also be considered. Ongoing professional development and supervision from a proficient level behaviour support practitioner or above, is provided.
Our Behaviour Support program uses individualised strategies for people with a disability, reducing the potential for behaviour that puts a person and those around them at risk. As a member of our Behaviour Support Team, you will work alongside people with disability and their supports, to develop a Behaviour Support Plan, which includes evidenced-based strategies, skill development, and training for the person and their support network.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL:
A degree in Behaviour Support, Psychology, Social Work, Allied Health or other relevant Tertiary Qualification.
Driver’s license.
Working with Children’s Check.
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Rights to work in Australia.
DESIRABLE:
Current suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
Knowledge of behaviour support principles, including functional behaviour assessments, behaviour support plans, and restrictive practices.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form relationships with key stakeholders - team members, other professionals, participants, and their families.
Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
An understanding of trauma-informed practice principles.
An understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme - including knowledge of policy and legislation related to behaviour support and restrictive practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing experience.
A passion for supporting participants to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Experience working with individuals, families, and children with disabilities.
CONDITIONS
This role is a permanent position. The position is classified as a Social & Community Services Employee Level 3. Depending on experience and practitioner level, a salary of $90,00 - $120,000 pa plus weekly bonus structure .
