Position Title: Mechanical Fitter
Shift: Day Shift Roster (Start and finish times negotiable)
Pay Rate: Up to $55 per hour + Superannuation

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and improvements to bakery production equipment and infrastructure. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive, safety-focused tradesperson with a background in FMCG or food manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on bakery production machinery.
• Attend to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and conduct repairs or component replacements.
• Carry out mechanical installations and upgrades to improve production reliability.
• Ensure all work complies with food safety, WHS and company quality standards.
• Complete maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with production staff to identify potential mechanical issues before they escalate.

Requirements:

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with bakery equipment, conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging lines.
• Good understanding of safety procedures, GMP, and HACCP requirements.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a maintenance team.
• Flexibility to negotiate start and finish times within a day-shift roster.
