Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill, of the operational requirements, skills in the provision of a diagnostic testing and clinical interpretation of results within a multidisciplinary Molecular Microbiology and core laboratory skills (Haematology, Chemical Pathology, Transfusion Medicine) and ability to perform relevant methods and procedures in each or any of these.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary Molecular Microbiology team and contribute a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a multidisciplinary Molecular Microbiology service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification.
Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements
- The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognised university or tertiary
- While not mandatory previous experience in Molecular Microbiology would be well regarded.
- Whilst this position currently covers both day including weekends and evening shifts, the successful applicant may in future be expected to participate in a continuous shift roster, and may work a combination of day, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts within each fortnight as required.
