Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and skill in the delivery of scientific/technical judgement within a microbiology and molecular laboratory.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of a microbiology and molecular team.
- Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a microbiology and molecular service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner.
- Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) formal qualification(s) in medical laboratory science or equivalent.
- The position advertised is shift and will be required to work days and evenings on a rotating roster over a 7 day period.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties
