About our region

West Arnhem Regional Council covers an area of almost 50,000 km2 of stunning natural landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.

More than two thirds of the region’s population of just over 6,000 identify as Aboriginal Australians, who reside in a collection of towns, communities and outstations. Council provides a range of local government services to five towns and communities across five wards with many popular tourist destinations.

The role

This position is responsible for providing high quality, efficient and effective mechanical services to the West Arnhem Regional Council communities. You will be required to commute between Jabiru, Minjilang and Warruwi to carry out repairs and maintenance of Council plant, vehicles and equipment.

About you

Trade certificate in motor mechanics or diesel fitter.

Experience in operating a mechanical workshop.

Authorised Vehicle Inspector (or ability to obtain)

Strong knowledge of mechanical functions along with proven
skills in a wide range of mechanical areas.

You will receive

Remuneration Package $112,000 - $119,000 (including salary $98,000 - $105,000)
