We are seeking applications for a Leading Hand Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic position to join our Workshop Team in Berrimah.

Working with a small team, this position will be responsible for but not limited to servicing, repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, including fault finding and diagnostics to assist the prevention of breakdowns or reduce downtime.

To be considered for this role, the candidate will require the following;

Qualifications

A trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic

Minimum 2 years experience in the industry

Minimum MR licence with H endorsement (desirable)

Working with Children Clearance (desirable)

Experience

Diesel mechanical experience with Mercedes Benz, MAN, Toyota vehicles

Experience using diagnostic scan tools

Basic auto electrical experience

Air-conditioning maintenance and servicing (desirable, but not essential)

Ability to carry out vehicle inspections/ maintenance – preferably in Heavy Vehicles

Forklift Licence (desirable, not essential)

Skills

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Organisational skills to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

Ability to be flexible, demonstrate initiative, and work effectively under pressure

Problem-solving, being able to think outside the square

Knowledge

High level of knowledge of engines, transmissions, and differential components

Basic knowledge of electrical components

Understanding of industry WH&S standards

Attributes

Ability to work independently and unsupervised

Ability to work with Management in achieving Management’s expectations and requirements

Good work ethic and a good attitude
