In addition to our restaurant, Ochre Catering provides exceptional services for a variety of events across North Queensland, including conferences, corporate gatherings, weddings, and special occasions in Cairns, Port Douglas, and Palm Cove.
About the Position
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our vibrant waterfront venue. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Restaurant Supervision
Take ownership of the daily operations across lunch, tapas, and dinner service. Lead by example on the floor—coordinating staff, managing guest flow, handling service issues swiftly, and ensuring every table enjoys attentive, professional service. Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain smooth communication and timely service delivery.
Team Leadership
Inspire and support the front-of-house team to consistently perform at a high level. Create a positive work environment through clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and an approachable leadership style.
Staff Training & Development
Assist in onboarding and mentoring new team members. Ensure staff are well-versed in menu knowledge, service etiquette, and venue procedures. Continuously uphold and refine service standards through coaching and on-the-job feedback.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in a similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage
Strong organisational skills
A passion for Australian cuisine and delivering exceptional customer service.
Current Queensland RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification.
Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings.
Ability to work both in the restaurant and offsite events.
Trading Hours:
Lunch: Monday - Saturday: 11:30am - 3:00pm
Tapas: Monday - Saturday: 3:00pm - 5:30pm
Dinner: Monday - Saturday: 5:30pm - 9:00pm
This is a full-time role, with a 5-day work week, offering a mix of Lunch and Dinner shifts
Please Note: This position is suited to candidates who are currently based in Cairns or planning to stay in the region for at least 12 months. Only applicants meeting this criteria will be considered.
