About These Opportunities
The UQ Business School is seeking to make multiple appointments in the areas of Management, Organisational Behaviour and/or Human Resource Management, to join the Management Discipline at the School. These appointments will be across the levels of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer.
We are seeking three Teaching and Research academics for:
- Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Management (R-50342) - 2 positions
- Lecturer /Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management (R-50335) - 1 position
As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Management or Human Resources Management, you will focus your efforts on growing your profile in teaching, research and service and engagement. At these levels, you may coordinate or lead the activities of other staff and will contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
You will join a vibrant discipline that spans diverse and impactful research and teaching areas, such as Ethics, Leadership, Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Psychology, HRM, HR Analytics, Job Design, Talent Management, Employee Well-Being, Job Design, Conflict Management, Justice, Diversity and Inclusion, Women in Leadership, Responsible AI, Indigenous Perspectives in Business, Communications, Decision Making amongst other areas. With a growing emphasis on executive education and plans for a new advanced HR master's program, we offer a forward-thinking environment at the forefront of innovation and influence.
The Business School has a strategic priority focus in the areas of sustainability, responsible management, innovation and emerging technologies and we therefore particularly welcome applicants from the management field with expertise that speak to these areas.
As a teaching and research academic at level B or C, you are expected to achieve national recognition in your field of research.
Key responsibilities will include:
Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You
Applicants should possess a PhD in a relevant field of either Management, OB, HRM or a closely related discipline.
For Level B Lecturer in Management or HRM, you will demonstrate:
- An established profile in teaching and research in the Management or Human Resources area (depending on the position you apply for).
- A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
- Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
- Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.
- Experience in course coordination and contribution to the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.
- A growing record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
- Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
For Level C Senior Lecturer in Management or HR, you will demonstrate:
- An established profile in teaching and research in the Management or Human Resources area (depending on the position you apply for).
- National recognition in the area of expertise, with an internationally developing research profile and an established record of publications in reputed refereed journal and presenting at conferences.
- A strong record of seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
- Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.
- A strong track record of course coordination and participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.
- A solid record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
- A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities.
