About the Role

A major NSW Government organisation is seeking a Principal Solution Lead (Travel & Expense) to drive the successful implementation of a new Travel and Expense Management System across multiple departments.

This is a key role that bridges the gap between business and technology, ensuring the solution delivers a streamlined user experience, meets compliance requirements, and integrates effectively with platforms like SAP.

You’ll bring proven experience as a subject matter expert in travel and expense processes, playing a hands-on role in testing, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the design and delivery of key solution artefacts to support implementation and adoption.
• Overseeing all phases of project delivery, from business case development to governance and reporting.
• Driving process evaluation and best practice to improve service efficiency and outcomes.
• Acting as the primary interface across internal teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
• Supporting testing, data mapping, and validation activities to ensure a successful system rollout.

Skills and Experience Required

• Deep knowledge of travel bookings, allowances, purchasing cards (PCard), virtual cards (VCard), and out-of-pocket expense claims.
• Hands-on experience in Travel and Expense Management Systems (configuration, support, and admin).
• Familiarity with SAP integration, particularly across payroll and finance functions.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to liaise across business and technical groups.
• Experience in system testing and implementation in complex environments (government or enterprise preferred).
