About the role
This position is responsible for managing procurement activities and overseeing the full lifecycle of contracts, from initiation through to completion. It plays a vital role in ensuring contracts are implemented, administered, and managed in alignment with Public Transport Authority (PTA) requirements. The role also supports Divisional stakeholders through effective engagement and advice on procurement and contract management matters, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with financial and performance obligations.
As a key contributor to the Division’s strategic sourcing strategy, the Senior Contracts Officer prepares procurement plans, compiles procurement documentation, and ensures procurement processes are completed within required timeframes to deliver value-driven outcomes. The role also drives continuous improvement through research and implementation of better contract and service delivery practices and contributes to ongoing reviews of policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrated capability across the full contract lifecycle—planning, procurement, implementation, and administration. Holds a relevant commercial or trade qualification or possesses equivalent practical experience.
Skilled in managing contractual and commercial issues, including dispute resolution. Strong financial analysis abilities support effective contract performance monitoring and risk mitigation.
Well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to negotiate, influence stakeholders, and build consensus across diverse teams.
Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to assess competing priorities, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver outcomes in a high-pressure environment.
