Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday, 35 hours a week

Hays has partnered with an organisation that provides valuable services that strengthen and support the Newcastle Community. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Administrator for a fantastic opportunity in a local government organisation.
Your new role
- Provide timely, efficient, and accurate high-level support to management and coordinators in daily operations.
- Draft and prepare formal correspondence, including responses to external parties, in collaboration with relevant staff.
- Deliver high-level customer service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Manage multiple competing tasks and priorities to meet service deadlines.
- Perform accurate and timely administrative duties, maintaining records and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate across units to achieve quality, integrated outcomes.
- Create, process, and assign service request work orders.
- Manage bookings for driveway inspections.
- Provide support and backfill for Depot Operations team members as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties within scope of skills, training, and experience as directed.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous administration experience is essential.
- Prior experience in local government or similar is highly desirable.
- Tech-savvy with experience using MS Suite and TechOne.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience providing high-level administrative support with confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to support team operations and contribute to quality outcomes.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
- Professional, customer-focused approach to service delivery.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments.
- Willingness to rotate through roles for upskilling and backfilling as needed.
