Job Description

We have a strong pipeline of projects in the design, development and construction of mineral processing and materials handling projects in Australia and overseas, and are currently recruiting a skilled Senior/Lead Structural Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in project development, ensuring high-quality designs and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal Structural Engineer, this position will involve but not be limited to the following duties:

Perform accurate engineering designs and calculations for concrete and steel structures, as well as foundations ensuring designs adherence to applicable Australian and project-specific codes, specifications, and standards. Detailed documentation of calculations and preparation of design reports.

Prepare precise engineering specifications, design basis, and assist with scope of work documents.

Efficiently assist in allocating engineering design and drafting resources to meet deliverable dates and man-hour budgets for timely deliverables ensuring project schedules are met for areas of assigned work.

Conduct thorough reviews of project structural drawings and vendor-certified documentation and provide necessary feedback to ensure alignment with design intent.

Manage and supervise design teams to ensure high-quality and timely work during study and project designs.

Assist in preparing accurate man-hour budgets and design schedules for Study and EPCM estimates.

Collaborate on-site for engineering, commissioning, and administrative activities as needed.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

We expect the successful candidate will possess experience and qualifications as follows:

Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering

Minimum 8 years in design engineering

CPEng and RPEQ, or actively working towards (highly regarded)

Strong understanding of Australian engineering codes and standards.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Be confident in the supervision subordinate personnel.

Previous mineral process plant design experience (ideal)

Understanding of fabrication and construction techniques in the minerals processing.

Previous EPCM experience is desirable.
