About Inclusion Solutions

Inclusion Solutions is a not-for-profit organisation, dedicated to enriching the lives of all people, including those who are socially disadvantaged, marginalised, disconnected from society or living with a disability. We feel privileged to work on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja, and are passionate about working together to foster inclusive communities for all people who call Australia home.

Inclusion Solutions partners with State and National Government Departments, Local Government Authorities, State and National Sporting Associations, local sport and recreation clubs, regional communities and a wide range of community-based organisations to promote and develop inclusive practices.

We provide community development consultancy and support across Australia, assisting in developing inclusive, welcoming communities, so that all people can meaningfully connect with, and be valued within their local community.

Our vision is to see that all people of diverse abilities, identities and backgrounds, have the opportunity to participate fully in their local community.

About the role

The Kwinana WayFairer Program supports older adults to connect to local volunteer opportunities where they can gift their unique talents and time.

As part of this Program, the Community Volunteer Connector will play a vital role in supporting older adults to engage in meaningful volunteer opportunities within their community. This position is responsible for providing administrative, coordination, and connection support to help older adults explore and connect with volunteer roles that align with their interests, skills, and abilities.

A place-based approach is central to this role, and as such, we are seeking a candidate who understands and is well linked to the Kwinana community, to help foster strong local connections and engagement.

The key responsibilities we are exploring are:

Volunteer Engagement & Support

Support older adults to identify their unique life experiences, skills and attributes and uncover what type of volunteer experiences they would most prefer.

Assist older adults in identifying and connecting with local volunteer opportunities suited to their skills, interests, and availability.

Liaise with local organisations to identify current skill gaps they have within their team and identify and promote suitable volunteer opportunities.

Provide support to matched volunteers and groups to help set placements up for success.

Administrative & Project Support

Maintain accurate records of volunteer participants, their interests/skills, and placement details.

Maintain accurate records of interested and participating community groups.

Track engagement and provide reports on program outcomes and participation rates.

Assist in preparing program materials, resources, and communication documents.

Respond to inquiries from older adults, community groups, the City of Kwinana and partner organisations.

Community Outreach & Relationship Building

Build and maintain strong relationships with local volunteer organisations, businesses, community groups and relevant City of Kwinana staff.

Represent the program at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities.

Support the promotion of the program through newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.

Event & Workshop Coordination

Assist in organising and coordinating information sessions, meet and greets, and delivering workshops.

Support logistical arrangements such as venue bookings, catering, and invitations.

Help facilitate discussions and presentations on the benefits of volunteering.

Monitoring & Feedback Collection

Gather feedback from volunteers and partner organisations to enhance the program.

Identify potential barriers for older adults in accessing volunteer opportunities and work to address them.

Contribute to program improvement by suggesting strategies to enhance engagement and participation.

If one or more of the above skill-sets sounds like you, we'd love for you to apply. We are currently looking for a part-time position (12 hours per week).

Our ideal candidate

The person we are looking for will have great relationship building skills and an enthusiastic involvement in their local community. They will also have a strong understanding of community development principles, and display high levels of initiative.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

A local connection to the Kwinana community to support a place-based approach.

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively network, build relationships and engage with diverse community members.

Experience in project support, administration, and/or community engagement.

Strong organisational skills.

Strong capability to work autonomously.

Experience of, or ability to, work alongside older adults from diverse backgrounds, in a supportive and empowering manner.

Knowledge of volunteering and community networks (preferred but not essential).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and database management.

Additional requirements

A valid National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one).

A valid Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).

A valid First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

Availability to work flexible hours if required for community events.

Benefits and perks

Flexible working arrangements.

Generous salary packaging.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Technology allowance.
