We are the Rural Fire Service (RFS), a dedicated community of volunteers providing fire and emergency services to approximately 95% of NSW. When you work with the RFS, you join a passionate team committed to protecting our neighbours, the wider community, and the environment from the threat of bushfires and other emergencies. • Provide high-quality analytical insights and recommendations to senior leaders to guide strategic planning, investment, and policy development.
  • Design and manage business intelligence dashboards to support real-time corporate performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Support the development of data modelling tools and systems that underpin key business initiatives, such as the Bushfire Preparation and Engagement Dashboard (BPED).
  • Partner with operational and support teams across the organisation to define KPIs, data needs, and performance standards.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Data Analytics, Information Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years experience in data analysis and reporting – ideally within a government or emergency services context.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong technical capabilities in data analysis tools such as SQL, SPSS, SAS, Excel and MS Access
  • Proven ability to deliver complex reporting products that are clear, accurate, and aligned to organisational goals.
