He has worked his way up from being on the tools to being a superintendent at major mining companies to now owning his own company. Qualifications & experience

• Level 2 Belt Splicer or above Working at Heights Confined Space Full Medical with DAS White Card

Tasks & responsibilities

• • Ability to perform physical manual labor, in the outdoors, heavy industry, construction or mining environment. • Ability to work in confined spaces. • Travel required
• • Mechanical aptitude – competence in the use of conveyor belt working tools and equipment. • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• • Skilled to perform conveyor belt splicing; requires knowledge of belts and related equipment to perform the splice. • lap splice, finger splice, and cable belt splice • refurbishment skills • basic rigging, lifting and slinging • pulley lagging including ceramic, poly and rubber lagging
• • Promote safety by working adhering to company safety guidelines; which includes but is not limited to the proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials and use of personal protective gear
• • Know, understand and capable of utilizing emergency response protocol. • Demonstrated working knowledge of both OSHA and MSHA safety standards, training, and compliance issues.
• • Be willing and able to work a variety of schedules; day and evenings, weekend and holiday, and also be willing to travel and work out of town on an as needed basis
• • Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and work independently and in a team environment • Beginner / Intermediate computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook, preferred
• • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, in a clear, effective and professional manner
• • Document job-site work as required; materials, labor and other costs used on jobs. • Experience in conveyor belt repair and maintenance • Experience in the construction, mining, power plant industry, preferred
• • Regular Drug and Alcohol Testing
