About the role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanical/Manager to join our team at Rafs Mechanical in Dandenong South, VIC. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of our successful automotive business.

What you'll be doing

Overseeing the day-to-day operations of our diesel mechanical workshop

Diagnosing and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment

Supervising and training a team of skilled mechanics

Ordering parts and maintaining inventory levels

Liaising with customers to understand their needs and provide high-quality service

Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards

Contributing to the development of new processes and procedures

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or workshop manager within the automotive industry

Minimum 5 years' experience as a diesel mechanic, including 2+ years in a workshop management role

Strong technical knowledge of diesel engine systems and components

Demonstrated expertise in electronic diagnostic equipment, hydraulic systems, and computerised engine management systems

Ability to lead and motivate a team of mechanics

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Commitment to safety and quality standards

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Relevant trade qualifications or certifications

Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent, plus current MR Victorian Driver's Licence

Must have permanent right to work in Australia and be willing to undergo pre-employment checks
