About the team
You will be working with a team of knowledgeable Arborists who are passionate about undertaking tree maintenance within the City’s urban forest.
We enjoy improving the health and aesthetics of trees in our city to provide environmental and social benefits to all residents and visitors.
We undertake regular management and pruning programs to ensure trees have good form and structure to provide our City with beautification and functionality.
About your new role
You will work as part of a crew responsible for pruning, maintenance and improvements of parks, landscaped and recreation areas within the City's open space regions and road network.
Undertake arboriculture maintenance and improvements of our high-profile foreshore parks, landscaped and recreation areas.
Operate and maintain plant and equipment including trucks, chippers, elevated work platforms and general arboriculture equipment.
Participate in identified training programs to increase skills and knowledge, contributing to the continual improvement of the section.
Please note that climbing is not a requirement of the position – these activities are performed by contractors.
We're looking for people who have:
Certificate II in Arboriculture (or higher) or a related discipline.
C Class Drivers Licence Unrestricted (or higher) (Mandatory).
General Construction Induction White Card.
A high-level of customer service and communication skills, a can-do attitude and a team player.
A high level of motivation and adaptability, with the ability to prioritise work and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
A working knowledge of arboriculture practices with practical experience intree maintenance and tree removals.
Sound physical health in order to satisfactorily perform the physically demanding duties of the position.
