About the role:
Our State Government client is seeking a Principal Project Officer – Inclusive Design join the team on a long-term, temporary basis. Based in Brisbane’s CBD and starting mid-July, the role will be for an initial period of 18 months with possible extension. Working 38 hours per week, within a hybrid work model, the role will be paying a casual hourly rate of $84.33 plus super.
In this role, you’ll lead the development of an inclusive design framework and roadmap to guide the planning and delivery of public infrastructure. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll translate user insights and policy objectives into practical tools and guidance. You’ll manage project milestones, risks, and deliverables, and produce high-quality briefings and presentations to support strategic decision-making and long-term systems change.
About you:
You will ideally bring:
- Experience working in complex project, policy, or infrastructure environments — preferably within or alongside government;
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including experience working across diverse groups;
- An interest in inclusive design, accessibility, or equity, and a willingness to build familiarity with relevant concepts;
- Proven ability to manage projects and deliver quality outputs within set timeframes;
- Confidence in preparing briefings, reports, and presentations for executive or strategic audiences;
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with a strong focus on outcomes;
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, Power BI);
- Experience with records management systems (e.g. Content Manager) is highly regarded; and
- Basic data analysis and synthesis skills.
