About the business functional area

The Workforce Statistics function is responsible for workforce profiling, analysis and forecasting future workforce requirements. The Workforce Reporting function operates in a high volume, time pressure environment for ad-hoc reporting whilst also delivering ongoing reporting to Department leaders and key stakeholders in a targeted and meaningful manner, enabling timely and informed decision making.

About the role

The role leads the Workforce Statistics & Reporting team within the People Data & Analytics area. The team overseas two functions and manages strategic datasets and staff related operational reporting for the Department. The team undertakes reporting and analysis, the workforce profile and provides key statistical information. The team also provides statutory and legislative reports in addition to other compliance, annual and ad-hoc reporting.

About you

  • You are a seasoned data analyst with previous experience developing and implementing workforce operational plans.

  • You are confident fostering and sustaining strategic partnerships across the Department and with external agencies.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Human Resource Management, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a relevant discipline
  • Significant experience across a range of HR functions, with a focus specific to this role on workforce analysis, planning and reporting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Experience in utilising current data analysis methods, tools and techniques to generate meaningful and actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
