Remuneration: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer- Academic Level B or Level C $127K- $155K per annum (based on experience) + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading; Associate Professor- Academic Level D $185K - $200K (based on experience) + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading
Location: Kensington, New South Wales

Why this role matters:
These positions will each play a key role in the delivery and ongoing development of the Bachelor of Exercise Science and the Master of Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology programs within the School of Health Sciences. The successful candidates will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality teaching, with a particular focus on their sub-disciplinary area of specialty. We seek to hire a staff member with expertise in neurological physiotherapy at a senior level (C or D) and at least two other positions in other specialist areas.
These positions offer the opportunity to contribute to curriculum innovation, student supervision, and program development aligned with contemporary physiotherapy education. The appointee will engage in scholarly activities and contribute to research, depending on their experience and interests.
These roles report to the Physiotherapy Discipline Lead and has no direct reports.
Skills Required:
At Lecturer (Level B)
- A PhD in Physiotherapy or other related health / medical disciplines.
- Registration with AHPRA as a physiotherapist in Australia.
- Proven commitment to proactive maintenance of discipline knowledge and development.
- Clinical expertise in an area of physiotherapy complementary to the School of Health Sciences team (this may include neurological, musculoskeletal or physiotherapy across the lifespan (e.g., paediatric, women’s health and aged care etc).
- Experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery of courses (subjects) and programs (degrees), at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Demonstrated experience with industry and work-integrated learning.
- Research outputs commensurate with a strong performing early career researcher (For T&R)
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
At Senior Lecturer (Level C, in addition to the above)
- Significant experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Evidence of professional development in teaching and a strong track record of teaching excellence.
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership
At Associate Professor (Level D, in addition to the above)
- Carry out original/innovative research, actively contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the relevant subject area/s, including making contributions to the discipline which are recognised at a national level with emerging international impact, may include scholarship of learning and teaching.
- Demonstrate an established record of substantial research income, consistent with that of a national leader in their field of research in leading universities.
- Engage with academic, professional, and international organisations relevant to the objectives of the School and Faculty.
- Make a positive contribution by leading School and Faculty meetings and seminars and be a member of School, Faculty and University committees as required.
- Recruit HDRs based on research reputation and supervise HDRs to timely completion as primary supervisor.
