About the role:

The primary purpose of the Administration Manager – Yirrkala is to support the Regional Manager – Council Services in the management of the Community, by providing expertise and implementation in a wide variety of financial, administrative and hands-on management functions.

The Administration Manager – Yirrkala is responsible for the efficient and effective management and administration of the day-to day internal and external business operations of the East Arnhem Regional Council (EARC) operations in Yirrkala, under the direction of Regional Manager - Council Services.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

• Ability to provide efficient management and financial support to the Regional Manager - Council Services.

• Proven ability to develop process and maintain organisational documents with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent planning and time management skills, with an ability to manage competing priorities within the broader community and be able to provide practical hands on and diverse management experience.

• Previous experience supervising people, with a demonstrated ability to effectively mentor, develop, support and motivate staff in a flexible and changing work environment.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, with proven people skills and the ability to work unsupervised when required.

• Demonstrated proficiency in computer word processing, spreadsheet development and database programs, used for management purposes.

• Sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety policy within the broader work environment.

• Demonstrated high level of cross-cultural awareness, to ensure effective participation in a multi-cultural workplace.

• A current C Class Drivers Licence, with the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

It would be desirable if you also possessed:

Previous experience living and/or working in remote Australian First Nations’ communities.

Awareness of issues affecting First Nations People in Australia.

All employment with the EARC is subject to a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance. Criminal history will not exclude an applicant unless it is relevant to the inherent requirements to their position.

What you'll get in return:

Full Time Permanent Employment

Level 5 - Salary $82,983 - $88,036 (excluding super and locality allowance).

You will also benefit from 6 weeks of Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading.
