About the Role
We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Recreation Officer to help shape the future of recreation and sport across our community. In this hands-on role, you’ll lead the coordination of strategic projects, contribute to the development and review of key recreation initiatives, and drive innovative solutions that encourage active living and social connection for people of all ages and backgrounds.
This is your chance to work collaboratively with local clubs, state sporting bodies, community organisations, and internal teams to build partnerships that inspire participation, inclusion, and community wellbeing.

About Rural City of Wangaratta
The Rural City of Wangaratta was formed from the merger of the City of Wangaratta, the Shires of Oxley and Wangaratta and parts of the Shires of Beechworth, Benalla and Yarrawonga. Originally known as the Shire of Milawa when the municipality was created on 18 November 1994 it was renamed the Rural City of Wangaratta on 29 June 1995.
