This position requires a dynamic and dedicated individual who can lead with vision and integrity, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment for staff, children, and families, in line with Mabunji ARIC's values and objectives.
Objective:
To effectively manage the operations of the Wunala Creche Early Learning Centre and oversee the Li-Ardubirri Playgroup – Early Childhood Development Program, ensuring delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care, early literacy and numeracy programs, and school readiness initiatives that meet the diverse needs of the children and families in Borroloola and surrounding region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day management and be hands on in the delivery of early childhood services, ensuring working towards compliance with national regulations, standards, and funding requirements.
- Develop and manage a stimulating environment for children's learning in accordance with the EYLF principles.
- Build, lead, mentor and support staff, promoting excellence in service delivery and professional development opportunities.
- Coordinate and increase client and community engagement, ensuring a customer-focused approach respecting family diversity and complexity.
- Manage financial aspects, including budgeting, reporting, and fee collection, in collaboration with our Finance Team.
- Uphold health, safety, and wellbeing standards for children, families, and staff, and maintain high child safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement through quality and risk management plans and systems.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including the Department of Health, Borroloola School, and community organisations, to strengthen service coordination.
- Conduct recruitment, training, and performance appraisals of staff in collaboration with the HR Manager.
Selection Criteria:
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or a Diploma of Children's Services, or equivalent, in compliance with national regulations or currently studying.
- Experience in early childhood services, with supervisory/management experience. In a remote location is highly desirable and preferred.
- Working knowledge of the education regulations, standards, and frameworks.
- Current Working with Children Clearance and National Police Check.
- Current C Class Drivers licence is essential
- First Aid Certificate is essential.
Management Skills:
- Proven time management skills, with the ability to coordinate and delegate effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in HR policies and staff management.

- Strong public relations and communication skills, with a focus on maintaining positive relationships and customer service.
- Enthusiasm, motivation, and a team-player mindset.
- Integrity, responsibility, respect, and innovation in carrying out all duties.
- Cultural awareness and understanding of remote community barriers to employment.
