The Opportunity
Youturn is thrilled to announce the establishment of our new headspace centre in Port Lincoln! This centre represents our commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people in the community, and we're searching for an exceptional leader to bring this vision to life.
Join our team as an Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Worker and help improve the educational and employment outcomes of young people aged 15 to 25 with mental health needs or disabilities. You will provide career development advice, vocational and employment assistance to young people in tandem with the headspace clinical team, to ensure young people can achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and competitive employment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist young jobseekers in identifying their educational and employment goals.
Co-design Career Profiles and Individual Vocational Plans with participants and their clinical team.
Conduct regular job development and job search activities with participants.
Develop employer relationships in the community for suitable job matches and provide employer education and support.
Assist participants in applying for jobs and contacting employers.
Liaise with headspace clinicians, Centrelink, Disability Employment Services (DES) or Workforce Australia employment services providers, where applicable.
Provide post-placement planning and in-work support to participants.
Adhere to IPS principles when providing vocational support, and case manage up to 20 active participants.

Essential Criteria
Knowledge or experience in employment services or other social inclusion services.
Demonstrate recovery-focused, person-centred attitude towards people with mental health needs and disabilities.
Knowledge and understanding of issues faced by young people with mental health issues.
Ability to create and implement person-centered plans and support.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and nurture relationships at a personal, organisational and community level.
Excellent organisational, time management and problem solving skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet organisational outcomes.
Well-developed computer, technology and administration skills.
Desirable: Knowledge of the principles of Individual Placement and Support evidence-based supported employment.
Desirable: Knowledge of employment-related services, relevant legislation and local labour market trends.
Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in employment services or a related field.
Other Requirements
Successful applicants will also need to hold a ‘C’ class Open driver licence, State Working with Children Check and hold, or be eligible to apply for, a Licensed Care Suitability Check issued by the QLD Department of Child Safety, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs.
