The Opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who values quality work, enjoys mentoring others, and wants to grow within a dynamic and supportive company.

🕐 Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
📅 Start Date: Within 2 weeks of the offer
📍 Primary Work Area: Inner West Sydney (occasional travel across the Sydney Metro area required)
🛠️ Additional Hours: Overtime and Saturday work may be required
🚐 Perk: A fully maintained company vehicle is provided with this role

Your Responsibilities

Complete structural and detailed carpentry on residential renovation sites

Interpret construction drawings and perform site set-out

Supervise and lead a team of tradespeople and apprentices

Coordinate with subcontractors and site/project managers

Ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance with building codes

Communicate effectively with the site or project manager

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone reliable, detail-focused, and experienced in residential construction who thrives in a leadership role.

Excellent verbal communication and people skills

Good working knowledge of residential construction practices

Qualifications & Experience

Certificate III in Carpentry (essential)

Minimum 4 years’ experience as a qualified carpenter

Cert IV in Building & Construction (preferred)

NSW Carpentry Contractor License (preferred but not essential)

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of the Timber Framing Code

Ability to interpret architectural and construction plans

Familiarity with the National Construction Code (NCC)

Additional Requirements

Current NSW Driver’s License

Full set of hand and power tools

Must be an Australian resident or hold valid work rights
