As a Child and Family Practitioner within The Orange Door team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions to families experiencing vulnerability or family violence. This is your opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team that prioritises child safety, wellbeing, and early intervention while working collaboratively across services to create lasting change.
About the Role
As a Child and Family Practitioner, you will:
- Deliver screening, assessment, crisis response, and service planning aligned with integrated practice frameworks
- Provide targeted brief interventions including outreach, home visits, and case conferencing
- Apply risk assessment tools such as Best Interests Case Practice Model Framework (BICPM) and MARAM (Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management) to promote child safety and wellbeing
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support families and individuals through coordinated referrals and service responses

- 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $97,614 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Holds a degree in Social Work (or equivalent); or be working towards in line with recommendation 209 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence. Click here for more information: https://www.vic.gov.au/mandatory-minimum-qualifications-specialist-family-violence-practitioners
- Experience working with men, children and families with complex needs in any of the following service areas: Family Services, Child Protection, Family Violence, Disability, Housing, Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs.
- A sound knowledge of sector reforms, theoretical frameworks and relevant legislation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high level of organisational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
