Careneeds Pty Ltd is a provider of aged and disability support services in the Melbourne metropolitan area. Our Positive Behaviour Support Team is located in Scoresby Vic. The successful candidate will provide high-quality positive behavioural support services to NDIS participants, focusing on quality not quantity. Your role is to support individuals to identify goals that are important and meaningful to them, provide evidence-based therapy in the community, and build the capacity of the person and their care team to achieve their goals. Our hands on approach to implementation, training and monitoring is pivotal in creating positive outcomes for our participants.

Role Description:
This is a full-time work from home (when your not out on the road visiting participants) role for a Behaviour Support Practitioner located in the Greater Melbourne Area (office located in Scoresby), there may be a requirement for a few days in the office throughout the year. The Behaviour Support Practitioner will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing behaviour support plans, implementing interventions, and providing training and support to clients and their support teams.

Responsibilities:
• Assist individuals and their families to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning to develop meaningful goals and practical strategies to support people in their home and community.
• Provide person-centred support through coaching, problem-solving and advocating for your participants needs.
• Demonstrate active listening and open communication to formal and informal supports in your participants life.
• Efficiently and effectively complete functional assessments to guide your therapy
• Develop Behaviour Support Plans utilising a positive behaviour support framework with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, that comply with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and NDIS Behaviour Support Rules 2018
• Experience working with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
• Work collaboratively within a small, cohesive team environment
• Experience working with individuals with a disability
• Relevant certification or degree in psychology, social work, or a related field

Requirements:
• Degree in Psychology or applied Behaviour Analysis or Allied Health (Social Work, Teaching, Nursing, Health Sciences, Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy)
• Registered as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner with an NDIS Registration ID Number
• Minimum of 12 months hands on working experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
• Endorsement as Core or Proficient as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner required
• Demonstrated experience working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours
• Experience working with people with a disability who exhibit behaviours of concern
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in conducting assessments and developing behaviour support plans
• Ability to implement interventions and provide training and support
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Clearance
• Current Drivers Licence
• Must be located in Melbourne, Victoria
