Baseball Queensland is the peak body for the administration of the sport of baseball in Queensland. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation, representing Queensland baseball organisations and their respective affiliates.
Baseball Queensland plays a key role in strengthening our members and supporting capacity building, performance and recognition of member organisations, their affiliates and individuals.
Through its membership Baseball Queensland represents over 30 clubs and associations and approximately 4,800 players, participants, workers and volunteers.

Player Development Coordinator
The Player Development Coordinator is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer and taking direction from the Performance Program Manager will:
in collaboration with the Performance Program Manager, be responsible for the delivery of player development programs (T4 and T5 as defined by the Baseball Queensland Pathway Framework);
be responsible for the delivery of player development initiatives to support clubs and regions;
be responsible for the delivery of coach development programs for aspiring coaches;
coordinate and manage a database of identified emerging talent;
coordinate operations for inbound and outbound traveling teams;
assist in the delivery of pathway events such as State Championships;
contribute to advancing the interests of Baseball Queensland throughout the State;
work in a member-based organisation and work with volunteers and committees; and,
have the skills to navigate complex issues by prioritising, managing and delivering outcomes that fulfil the priorities of Baseball Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
The Player Development Coordinator will deliver our player development programs Statewide with the aim to prepare athletes and coaches for entry into the high performance pathway of the sport while also increasing player development participation opportunities. The Player Development Coordinator will:
coordinate all aspects of Baseball Queensland’s player and coach development programs and initiatives to achieve strategic outcomes within budget;
develop and manage relationships with all key stakeholders;
prepare accurate reports on activities and outcomes demonstrating contributions to the Strategic Plan;
in collaboration with high-performance experts, evaluate and improve the player development programs on a regular basis;
work with other BQ staff to ensure player development programs are delivered within parameters;
network well across the organisation and provide clear communication to colleagues in a timely fashion; and,
maintenance of the database of identified emerging athletes.
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Sports Management, Coaching or Player Development.
An understanding of the structure, governance model and stakeholders of Baseball Queensland.
Detailed knowledge of player development principles and common methods in use in baseball.
Demonstrated experience in implementing strategies to improve player performance.
Ability to contribute to new initiatives to improve player development.
High-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to engage in domestic travel in delivery of essential role-related activities.
Open driver’s licence.
Current first aid certificate.
Current (paid) Working with Children Check clearance.
Relevant general coaching experience (school aged children)
USA Baseball Coaching Certificate A, B and C.
Community Coaching – Essential Skills Certificate
Relevant Sports Integrity Training (can be completed on the job)

Deliver regular reports on activities delivered and contributions to outcomes aligned with the strategic plan.
Deliver on BQ player and coach development objectives.
Build the organisation’s relationship with our key stakeholders.
Displays a professional approach to communicating with stakeholders.

Writes concise and accurate correspondence.

Hours of Work
Employed under a fixed term contract for 20 hours per week.
Remuneration Guide
As per Sporting Organisations Award Level 2 Coach.
