EGS Survey is a leader in hydrographic and geophysical surveys across Australia and internationally. We’ve just completed our first commercial project with USV Fremantle 01 — a purpose-built, autonomous 12 m vessel — and we’re expanding fast. USV 02 is under construction, and USV 03 is in early planning with an evolving design. This is your chance to leave your mark on Australia’s most advanced uncrewed vessel fleet.

You'll primarily be working on our advanced USV fleet, but may also support our 42 m DP1 diesel-electric conventionally crewed survey vessel (<500 GT), which operates in Australia and requires occasional visits and maintenance support.

About the Role

We are seeking a Marine Electrician or Electrical Engineer with a strong electrical background to join our permanent team. You’ll work across exciting projects in a hands-on, technically rewarding role, supporting build, integration, and field operations for our growing USV fleet.

What You'll Be Doing

Electrical installation and maintenance across 12V, 24V, and 240V AC systems

Integration and commissioning of diesel-electric hybrid propulsion (Yanmar + Victron)

Troubleshooting and diagnostics of marine control, comms, and nav systems

Collaborating with software and mechanical teams on system upgrades

Supporting remote operations and ad-hoc fieldwork (approx. 30–90 days/year)

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in marine electrical systems or vessel integration

Electrical certification to work on 240V systems (desirable)

Knowledge of battery systems, solar charging, and hybrid power

Familiarity with Victron, CANbus, NMEA2000, or other marine protocols

Comfortable working independently and solving complex technical issues

Enthusiastic about innovation and emerging marine technologies
