About the opportunity
As our Senior Retail Customer Service Officer, you’ll play an important part in helping Australians service their own businesses, keeping millions of people connected and building community resilience. Every year around one million customers walk into one of Australia Post’s 4,400 Post Offices. It’s our retail teams who make sure that every experience they have is a great one. And while they do, they’re supported by a welcoming team, take part in ongoing training, and are guided on career development opportunities.
The purpose of the position is to professionally assist in the management of operations in our postal outlet to achieve objectives, grow profitability, increase productivity and team engagement, whilst providing consistently high standards of customer service.
Role Details:
- Annual salary $70,730 + 12% superannuation
- Up to $2,760 district allowance + air conditioning subsidy
- Full-time position, shifts Monday – Friday | 8:45am – 17:00pm

You’ll be
- Building rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs.
- Assisting with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance.
- Have the ability to develop the skills and expertise of team members having worked in a customer-facing role which required effective and efficient resolution of customer complaints.
- Assisting with managing back office processes, such as; stock inventory functions, conducting outlet balancing and audit functions.
About you
- You’re a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality who loves working in a team environment.
- You’re ready to put the customer at the centre of everything you do to help make a difference in the community.
You’ll also need to
- Managing high value transactions accurately (handling and processing cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS).
- Conducting and processing a number of identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews.
- Promoting our products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising and other promotional activities.
- Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly and stand for your shift.
