We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student to join our team as a graduate urban planner. This is an opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their career in local government and gain valuable experience.

You will assist in the development and implementation of urban planning projects, collaborating with experienced professionals to address complex challenges in our communities.

You will be responsible for, with the help of your team:

Assist in the preparation of planning documents, reports, and presentations.

Conduct research and analysis on urban development trends, zoning regulations, and environmental impacts.

Support community engagement initiatives, including workshops and public meetings.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative planning solutions.

Contribute to site assessments, land use planning, and policy development.

You will be a true team player, liaising with internal and external departments and stakeholders to ensure the Town of Mosman Park receives quality services regarding all aspects of urban planning.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

Degree level qualification (or near completion) in urban and regional planning or similar.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret relevant urban planning legislation including the Residential Design Codes, local planning schemes and regulations.

Well-developed communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal.

Report writing and problem-solving skills (developing).

Analytical, research and evaluation skills.

Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.

Strong commitment to customer service.

Intermediate computing skills, and a knowledge of MS Office is required.

Eligibility to the Planning Institute of Australia.

Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.

Willingness to participate in ongoing development and training.
