The Role
As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you will deliver high quality, culturally safe, ear and hearing health care to clients across the urban, regional and remote communities as part of the dynamic multi-disciplinary NT Hearing Services team. This position is based in Darwin and the selected applicant will be required to travel to remote communities in light aircraft or 4WD for up to 5 days at a time.

About you
You must be a confident clinician with a passion for improving hearing health outcomes: To be successful in the role you will be required to have:

Current registration with AHPRA as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with no restrictions and a qualification minimum at an AQF level 5 as per NTPS Aboriginal Health Practitioner 2022-2025 Enterprise agreement.

Demonstrated experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner and experience in providing health promotion and health education programs.

Demonstrated local cultural knowledge, respect and safety of local communities and the health information systems used in the clinic setting and patient care systems, with attention to recording data.

Ability to self manage within a multi-disciplinary team, travel by 4WD or light aircraft to remote communities for up to 5 days at a time and provide primary health care services against national health care standards in a culturally and clinically safe manner.

Hold a Northern Territory Drivers Licence or ability to obtain.
