Immediate start – Darlington Vic

This is a rare opportunity to join a privately owned large farming enterprise in the beautiful scenic area of Darlington, Southwest Victoria. The farming operation has received multiple wool clip awards for super fine merino wool production and on occasion topped the market for cattle sales at Mortlake. The operation prides itself in the strong team relationship culture.

You will report directly to the farm owner. Your duties including but not limited to;

Managing day to day operational staff.

Animal handling, sheep and cattle

Implementation and optimisation of the annual livestock systems

Planning, feed budgeting, and pasture management.

Overseeing infrastructure improvements

Overseeing general farm maintenance including water infrastructure, yards, fences

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a high level of experience in sheep and cattle production and demonstrate a proactive nature and the proven ability to work effectively (both autonomously and leading a small, friendly team) within challenging current drought conditions. You must demonstrate strong leadership competencies driving efficient and productive operation of the farm in accordance with the strategic business plan whilst in close consultation with the family business owners and Board.

It is critical that you are committed to achieving the highest levels of animal welfare.

Essentially you must possess;

Qualifications in Agriculture preferred

A manual driving licence, able to drive and safely operate tractors, All Terrain Vehicles, Motorbikes and V8 Landcruisers (with trailers)

Preferably - a chemical users license, chainsaw operations & general maintenance welding.

Working dogs would be highly regarded
