Your day as an Assistant Data Analyst

Your typical day-to-day work includes developing strategic procurement intelligence from a range of data sources to provide actionable insights and reports that supports strategic visibility on Election Commitments covering social and commercial priorities. Your work will support teams across NSW Government including Procurement, Policy, Banking and Finance, and Strategy to produce improved outcomes.

This role liaises extensively with other areas within Treasury, with NSW government agencies and equivalents in other jurisdictions across Australia, and with external stakeholders.

Achieve success as an Assistant Data Analyst

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

· Tertiary qualifications or ongoing studies in a relevant discipline or demonstrated 1-2 years of relevant, equivalent professional experience.

· Proven experience working with APIs, ETL workflow tools such as Azure Data Factory and data integration techniques or equivalent

· Proven experience in creating, modifying and implementing business intelligence tools such as Power BI, PowerApps, PowerPlatform, Web Forms or equivalent.

· Strong attention to detail and data quality to ensure accuracy in data processing and reporting and error free reports

· Ability to navigate ambiguity and contribute to informed decisions in uncertain or evolving situations.

· Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a strong focus on self-validating work for accuracy and completeness.

· Ability to prioritise competing priorities, raise risks and deliver outcomes as per agreed timelines

· A growth mindset and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and best practices in data engineering.

· Team player with demonstrable experience of flexibility on the job.
