Remuneration: OPS4 ($76,561 - $80,256 per annum + 11% Super)
Role Details:
The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Kinship Care Worker to join the Gawler Office in a Full-time ongoing position.
The role is responsible for:
Providing brief interventions as required and evaluating effectiveness of services provided.
Identifying constraints/barriers to family effectiveness, particular needs and interests in relation to health, well-being and parenting as well as resources to assist the family.
Supporting, training and educating Kinship Carers in practical day to day care.
Establishing interpersonal relationships that will enable effective communication and identifying and maintaining links with relevant services.
Working with ambiguous information and drawing on previous experience to develop innovative solutions to problems.
To be successful:
You will be a confident individual with knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, kinship systems, and the issues that impact policy development and service delivery.
You will have the ability to understand the needs of a diverse range of clients and cultures. Using initiative, creativity, negotiation, consultation, and conflict resolution skills, you will deliver services that are respectful, inclusive, and effective.
An understanding of parenting models and family dynamics is essential. You will also need to understand the impact of trauma, abuse, and neglect on young people and their development.

About the Business:
The DCP Kinship Care Program:
Provides a state-wide program offering targeted support, information and training to kinship carers based on their needs.
This includes support to Aboriginal carers and carers of Aboriginal children and young people who wish to be supported by the DCP Kinship Care Program.
The DCP Kinship Care Program is delivered through eight teams aligned to North and South locations.
