About the role
Provide medical operational leadership and governance to STARS Anaesthesia in the delivery of comprehensive clinical care that fosters a positive culture of collaboration. To provide high-quality specialist anaesthetic, analgesic, preadmission, acute pain and other related services for patients undergoing procedures at STARS within STARS and supervise medical staff and other multidisciplinary clinical staff assigned to STARS Anaesthesia that promotes streamlined care. To provide operational leadership and management to the Anaesthetics Deputy Directors, including development and oversight of their Portfolios within the Department.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Providing high quality expert consultation and advice directly to patients or to GPs, and within the HHS as required.
- Leading the ongoing education, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of safety and quality initiatives relevant to the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards (NSQHS) and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).
- Actively taking part in Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Peer Review, Morbidity and Mortality Meetings and Audit and to demonstrate positive change as a result. This includes support for National and College quality standards.
