The opportunity

Vacenti is seeking a Full-Time Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor T to join our Hotel Services team at Sorrento located at Cleveland, QLD. The Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor provides guidance and mentoring to all housekeeping and Laundry Staff in collaboration with the Group Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor & Facility Managers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Provide guidance and mentoring to a team of Housekeeping and Laundry Assistants.

Proactively monitor and make necessary adjustments to the service delivery model as
required.

Analyse and review to ensure cost effectiveness, quality and timeliness of service outcomes.

Ensure Housekeeping and Laundry Assistants adhere to departmental policies and
procedures & follow the safety and OH&S requirements.

Ensure staffing levels/competency and equipment is appropriate to meet delivery
requirements across the housekeeping and laundry department.

Communicate effectively with team members and ensure all changes to processes are
communicated in a timely manner.

Escalate high level maintenance requirements relating to housekeeping and laundry
equipment and premises, and following up to ensure prompt action has been taken.

Managing the budgets of the laundry and housekeeping departments.

To be considered, you will need:

Experience in similar role.

Reasonable level of spoken and written English literacy skills.

Previous supervisory experience in a cleaning environment.

A current National Police Certificate.

A personal philosophy of honesty and integrity, and practical approach that is compatible with the Vacenti values.

Some knowledge of Aged Care legislation including the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Proven team leadership skills and working knowledge of personal care and resident lifestyle requirements in Aged Care and continuous improvement, accreditation process, electronic housekeeping management systems and OH&S legislation.

A positive team-based attitude.

Has initiative and work independently.

Can work in a busy environment and has good time management skills.

Very high attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

Willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, learn and cross train.
