Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of a dynamic, risk-based internal audit program aligned with strategic objectives and regulatory expectations.
• Conduct end-to-end audits across operational and compliance areas, delivering high-quality reports with clear, risk-aligned recommendations.
• Provide independent assurance over governance, risk management, and internal control effectiveness, including assessment of first and second line activities.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with executives, committees, risk and compliance teams, and external auditors to ensure effective coordination and reporting.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the audit function, while promoting professional development and business knowledge.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Bachelor's degree with a recognised professional designation (CA, CPA, or CIA) and current membership with a relevant professional body.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in internal or external audit, with 2–3 years in financial services or insurance, general insurance is preferable.
• Strong track record of independently leading audits end-to-end, including planning, execution, and remediation follow-up.
• Solid understanding of GRC systems and key regulatory standards, including APRA CPS 230.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with senior executives while upholding audit objectivity and independence.
