Project Manager – Building, Facilities & Sustainability - Immediate start
📍 Perth Metro | 6 months with excellent potential to become permanent
💼 Public Sector | Built Environment | Capital Works & Asset Sustainability
A well-regarded and progressive local government is seeking a capable and collaborative Project Manager to help shape the future of public infrastructure, sustainability and community spaces.
This role sits within a dynamic, outcomes-focused team delivering capital works and asset upgrades that reflect strong environmental values and smart use of resources. The team operates out of an award-winning, architecturally designed workplace — a light-filled, innovative environment that’s as forward-thinking as the projects it supports.
Unlike many public sector teams, this group applies a structured Estimate–Cost–Review (ECR) model to project delivery — meaning better cost accuracy, fewer surprises, and a genuine commitment to learning from each project. It’s a smarter, more accountable way of doing capital works.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
Deliver a broad mix of capital projects across building upgrades, facilities maintenance, and energy-efficient infrastructure.
Lead the planning, design and procurement process with a focus on value for money, safety and long-term sustainability.
Manage contractors and consultants across the full lifecycle — from business case to completion.
Balance innovation with accountability — your leader is open to new ideas but equally focused on keeping things on time and on budget.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contribute meaningfully to an engaged and experienced project delivery team.
✅ You’ll Bring:
Proven experience delivering building, facilities or infrastructure projects — ideally in a local government or asset-heavy environment. Senior Project Officers are encouraged to apply, as there is flexibility in the team to suit this. Conversely, we can fit in a highly experienced PM as well.
Knowledge of WA procurement frameworks and contract administration practices.
A practical, proactive approach to delivery — capable of balancing stakeholder needs, environmental considerations and cost control.
Qualifications in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Architecture or similar and experience in built environments.
🌟 What’s on Offer:
A role that genuinely makes an impact on the sustainability and functionality of public spaces and that has an excellent potential to become permanent.
A highly supportive, open-minded leadership group that welcomes new thinking while keeping its eye on the bottom line.
An award-winning, sustainable HQ that makes coming to work a pleasure.
Locale - walkable streets, vibrant cafes, arts and cultural festivals, and a strong sense of community.
Great work-life balance, secure employment, and a team that genuinely enjoys what they do.
