The City of Marion Outdoor Pool is arguably Adelaide’s best recreation outdoor aquatic facility, with its stunning grassed areas, extensive shade, three pools, two large waterslides and a super-fun splash park.
We hate to boast, but our outdoor pool facility has the biggest water park in Southern Metropolitan Adelaide.
Our aquatic excitement includes a giant tipping bucket, a Balinese party hut, a 70-metre water slide that twists and turns, and a speed slide with a 10-metre drop at speeds of over 30 km/h!
Besides our extensive swim and water activities, the Marion Outdoor Pool facility is also a well sought after venue for birthday parties. We attract hundreds of people to our movie nights, and last summer we accommodated almost 160,000 visitations.
The pool is open to a busy public from late September to April. During this time, we employ a large team of committed, customer oriented seasonal staff who have a safety-first approach to all that we do.

We are now recruiting multiple, part-time seasonal, qualified Pool Attendants to help us make this the best swim season ever.
Our friendly, reliable, and conscientious Pool Attendants ensure the safety of our many patrons from all age groups.
As one of our community orientated ambassadors, you will work in a great team environment, follow safe work practices and procedures, and educate users how to be safe in and around the Marion Outdoor Pool while still having great fun.
In this position you will be responsible for day-to-day pool activities that include but is not limited to the following.
Making sure that all safety, hygiene and general cleanliness standards are met for the water, its surroundings, and changing rooms to an extremely high standard.
Administering first aid/resuscitation if required.
Maintaining order, control and ensuring appropriate behavior of pool users with particular attention to safety and proper use of facilities.
Assisting customers and user groups with enquiries and helping resolve any problems they may encounter.
Installing and removing equipment as advised by the Bookings Sheet or by senior staff.
Reporting any breakdown of plant, machinery, and equipment to the Pool Attendant Supervisor.
To be considered for this job it is essential you have the following.
A minimum of 18 years of age
Current Pool Lifeguard Awards
Current Apply First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
Be willing to obtain or already have obtained Safe Environments for Children and Young People Through Their Eyes training or Masterclass for Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care
Prior experience as a lifeguard either on the coast or at a pool
Willingness and availability to work holiday periods and weekends
A team player approach to work with a flexible attitude to assist with other duties if needed
Sound public relations, customer service skills
Have excellent communication skills in dealing with clients/user groups
Sound ability to manage conflict situations effectively
You must be available to work the following.
Commitment to work across the full season (October to end of April) school holidays, weekends and public holidays
Average shift length of 5 hours
Shifts provided on a needs/performance basis
Shifts range from anywhere between 6am and 8:30pm
Availability for a MINIMUM of 2/3 shifts a week (more incorporating availability on weekends)
You will be paid the following.
In this position you will be paid $36.05 per hour plus superannuation and receive fortnightly pay.
This a mighty fine seasonal contract position within a great team culture with ongoing work seasonally tied to good work performance. You can “work hard during the summer period and have winter off to travel and chase the sun”.
Note: This position will require the successful applicant to undertake a Working with Children DHS Check and may require some afters hours work, and at times include variable working hours.
