The City of Marion Outdoor Pool is arguably Adelaide’s best recreation outdoor aquatic facility, with its stunning grassed areas, extensive shade, three pools, two large waterslides and a super-fun splash park.
We hate to boast, but our outdoor pool facility has the biggest water park in Southern Metropolitan Adelaide.
Our aquatic excitement includes a giant tipping bucket, a Balinese party hut, a 70-metre water slide that twists and turns, and a speed slide with a 10-metre drop at speeds of over 30 km/h!
Besides our extensive swim and water activities, the Marion Outdoor Pool facility is also a well sought after venue for birthday parties., We attract hundreds of people to our movie nights, and last summer we accommodated almost 160,000 visitations.
The pool is open to a busy public from late September to April. During this time, we employ a large team of committed, customer oriented seasonal staff who have a safety-first approach to all that we do.

We are now recruiting multiple, part-time casual seasonal, qualified Birthday Party Hosts to help us make this the best swim season ever.
This position is all about creating a wonderful experience for all party participants. You will be on point to deliver a well-organised party and use your outstanding customer skills interacting with the many families and children that use the centre.
As one of our community orientated ambassadors, you will work in a great team environment, follow safe work practices and procedures, and educate users how to be safe in and around the Marion Outdoor Pool while still having great fun.
In this position you will be responsible for day-to-day party activities that includes but is not limited to the following.
Maintaining and developing relationships with the Centre’s customers, particularly parents and carers of Birthday Party guests, providing excellence in customer service.
Maintaining order and ensuring appropriate behaviour of party guests with particular attention to safety and proper use of facilities.
Increasing awareness to patrons of other programs/activities/promotions that are organised at the Centre.
Communicating feedback from customers about parties and events to the Aquatic Services Supervisor.
To be considered for this job it is essential you have the following.
A Commitment to availability on weekends, particularly during peak periods (December, January, and February).
A DoFoodSafely Certificate (Free on-line via SA Health site)
Current Apply First Aid and CPR certificate preferred
Be willing to obtain or already have obtained Safe Environments for Children and Young People Through Their Eyes training or Masterclass for Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care
Preferably prior experience as either a Party Host or in Banquet/Events
A team player approach to work with a flexible attitude to assist with other duties if needed
Those that also have Current AUSTSWIM Certificate or Current Pool Lifeguard Award will be well received.
You must be able to work the following.
Commitment to work across the full season, school holidays, weekends and public holidays
Weekend work availability is essential
Shift lengths range from 5 to 7 hours
Base working hours:
o School Holidays
Tuesday and Thursday 11am – 4pm
Saturday and Sunday 11am – 6pm
o In term
Saturday and Sunday 11am – 6pm
You will be paid the following.
In this position you will be paid $28.84 per hour plus superannuation and receive fortnightly pay.
This a great seasonal contract position in a great team culture with ongoing work seasonally tied to good work performance where you can “work hard during the summer period and have winter off to travel and chase the sun.”
Note: This position will require the successful applicant to undertake a Working with Children DHS Check and may require some afters hours work, and at times include variable working hours.
