Wolper Jewish Hospital is a 57-bed private facility providing rehabilitation services, medical care and palliative care. The high quality of our services make us an employer of choice.

The rehabilitation ward consists of 35 beds and predominantly consists of patients following joint replacements. We offer all patients twice daily physiotherapy and/or hydrotherapy and run a 7 day a week service.

The Rehabilitation Nurse Manager works very closely with the Physiotherapy Manager and Visiting Practitioners and reports to the General Manager/DCS, forming a pivotal part of the clinical governance structure.

This position provides leadership, strategic direction, and support to the clinicians and executive.

The Rehabilitation Nurse Manager ensures rehabilitation services are consistent with the NSW Rehabilitation Model of Care and the Australian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine guidelines.

Essential Criteria

Rehabilitation experience

Registered Nurse with post-graduate qualifications

Significant management experience and Tertiary Qualifications in Management will be highly regarded

High level of written and oral communication together with well-developed interpersonal skills

Commitment to delivery of high standard of patient care

Positive and enthusiastic attitude

Desirable

Management experience in a private hospital

A strong understanding of the current challenges facing private healthcare

Professional Duties

Provide leadership to the nursing team

Optimise patient flow and bed management including forecasting and workforce management.

Continuous quality improvement such as assisting with audits and required outcomes.

Actively support the concept of continuous improvement in accordance with Accreditation and the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards.

Drive initiatives to enhance patient safety and maintain high-quality clinical outcomes.

Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, legal, and operational standards.

Responsible for workforce planning and support the professional development of the clinical workforce to meet organisational goals.

Support growth initiatives, business development, and respond to needs identified by the Executive team and the Board of Directors.

Liaise with the visiting medical practitioners to ensure the delivery of the highest quality clinical care.

Monitor patient satisfaction and implement improvements as necessary

Motivate members of the Department to maintain a common focus to achieve objectives.

Take a lead with conceptualising and developing ideas in response to problem identification

Plan and oversee the departmental budget, ensuring budgetary requirements are met in collaboration with the executive team.

Monitor cost efficiency while ensuring a high standard for patients, staff and visiting practitioners

Advocate, plan and advise in relation to rehabilitation service development and evaluation

Assess workplace culture and implement strategies to support findings, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

The position is full-time Monday to Friday.
