About the role

If you are successful in this role, you will have the opportunity to:

interpret planning legislation and associated regulations, development controls and policies

liaise with clients, consent authorities, government agencies, and other professionals

assess and report on the environmental impacts of proposed developments

develop project methodologies and associated budgets for inclusion in fee proposals

identify and assess the development potential of properties

prepare a range of reports including statements of environmental effects, planning proposals and submissions to local, district and regional planning panels

prepare advice and assessments across a range of planning matters

manage individual projects on a day-to-day basis.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate energy, initiative and a willingness to learn and develop.

The following minimum experience is required:

have worked in planning and development in the public and/or private sector, ideally with experience in engaging with clients, technical consultants and other stakeholders

a comprehensive understanding of environmental planning legislation and approvals processes

well-developed project management and organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise, implement instructions and complete tasks unsupervised and in a timely manner

strong analytical and problem-solving skills

the ability to write clearly and concisely

relevant tertiary qualifications and a commitment to continuing professional development.
